Get it not by your own works... Simply ask!

haha, I read a verse in Acts and found it to be really interesting...

Acts 7:41 (NKJV)
And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

I think it's really interesting that the phrase saying they "rejoiced in the works of their own hands" were mentioned in line with the calf they made. The idol here = the works of their own hands.

How often do we rejoice/ glory in the purity of our hands or actions? How often do we glory in our own commitments or even our attendance in church? ;)

I totally agree that grace enables and empowers us to labor more abundantly but may we never forget the first Love - the Grace who first enabled and empowered.... :)

Rejoicing in the works of their (our) own hands in comparison to the one work of Jesus...

1 Corinthians 1:30-31
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption- 31 that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."

=================

Was really blessed by the session with Pastor Keith on Thursday! I love the part being shared - with the little we have, God can use. Just show up and Jesus would be there. The best place to sharpen and hone our gift is in the house of God - as we start using what we have, the gifting and calling in our lives would become evident.

Don't wait till the day YOU THINK the gift or basically a simple skill you have to be perfect then start using it in the house of God; just start using and it would be sharpen... :)

Anyway, on Friday I was listening to the sermon titled - What do you have in the house? by Pastor Prince on 28 Nov 04. And the one thing that caught me then was the part that Pastor said he is going to share the cycle of grace - where many of us come to church and keep receiving but we need an outlet!! haha.

Do you know what is the difference between the sea of Galilee and the dead sea?

The sea of Galilee has inlet and outlet but the dead sea only has inlet and no outlet. If you are being filled constantly but no place to output the grace that has been bestowed upon you, you would be frustrated on the inside! haha.

Pastor mentioned that in the relation with Daddy God, it is more blessed to receive than to give... Come to Him and TAKE! Whereas in relation to men, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Therefore, come to God to take and give to men - that's the equation I got. Then a question popped up - WHAT ABOUT MEEEE???!!

haha. And the immediate response was the reminder of the feeding of the five thousand men not counting women and children - there would be 12 baskets full leftover... :) Many times we feel that if I were to serve or give, I would be depleted - I would have no more! But it's really not true because when you show up, Jesus is there to multiply.

The people had as much as THEY wanted but still, there were 12 baskets leftover!

John 6:11-13 (NKJV)
11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost." 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

Oh yah! I also like the part about not being satisfied with just enough for yourself! Ask Daddy God for more! More than enough so that you can be a blessing to others too! May the day come for us all that we need not "worry" about the little we have but about the abundance we have and where to give!? haha...

We are blessed to be a blessing - it is always in relations to someone else. In order for you to be a blessing, someone has to be blessed... Even the gifting we have, it is for the glory of Jesus and for the good of HIS Church - made up of people. Be daring to ask for more! :)

MORE LORD! All that You wanna give Your children but they don't want - too busy earning it by their own works, give me! heh heh.

Trusting the Father's heart...

Had a good dinner with my Braveheart... Love the evening! All the stoning and slow walking from office to interchange. haha!

Tonight is one of the nights where I have nothing on and I'm really glad because I get to come home early - though I knocked off much later than usual. :( - and just spend time at home, with mum, practise piano (if I have time) before lesson tomorrow.... :)

Anyway, I was eating with my Braveheart at interchange then I saw this uncle on a really cool... I don't know what is that man! It's like a mini scooter that you can use on pavement? hahaha. Anyway, I saw him struggling to read what's written on the different sign boards. I observed him for quite some time and looking at the wonders of the world before I decided to walk up to him. But as I move forward, he moved forward too >.< that to say, he went out of sight as well...

So I doubled my steps to see where he was, and *tah tah!* he's now at the hawker center! Looking at all the different sign boards again....

I went up to him and asked, "Uncle, you want to eat?" and he said, "No." and my immediate respond was, "Ok" and I walked off without even looking back.

This is the second time I got rejected when I offered to help - at the same vicinity as well! And for both times my response were exactly the same! And I was just talking to Braveheart and wondering how come I have such response? The distaste of rejection? haha.

Then the below came to mind...

Last Friday as I was at the dental...

Dentist: You are quite a giggly girl. You must be popular...
Me: *with mouth wide open* -= no comments =- like as if I had the chance to say anything... haha!

And I talked to my Braveheart about this popularity thingy and I said, "I don't think I'll bother to be popular." "I think I would only want to be loved."... And the following unfold (not in sequence though. Many things seemed to be touched on in the short walk with Him)....

Many times we mistake popularity as the measure of being loved. We mistake given attention to as being loved. We equate being given time to as being loved. Yes, these are by-products of love but it is not the core of love...

In all our hearts, we want love, we want to be loved - just as we are.

I really love when Pastor Prince shared Matthew 15:21-28, about why Jesus initially did not respond when the Syro-Phoenician woman pretended to be a Jew - because if He were to do so, she would not have experienced Grace; she would not have known that she is loved as she is...

Case in point - if I were to pretend to be someone else and I am loved, I would never know/ feel that I am truly loved and I would always be afraid to reveal my true self. But when I am loved despite and inspite of myself, I AM LOVED!

Yah, and as I was still talking to Braveheart, I was reminded again that God is Love.

And as I was waiting for bus, I thought, "Hmm... I would rather be truly loved by a few than just being popular." And I realised that sometimes for the sake of popularity or basically being liked by many, we compromise.

And I was reminded how Jesus was being rejected again and again. So, how did He bear all these?? Is there something that we are missing out in the midst of all these popularity contest in our own hearts?

I believe that the Father's love must have been really real in His heart. The first words that were spoken to Him when He came out of River Jordan - ...“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

I believe that because He knew really well that He is so accepted by Daddy God, it didn't really matter that He was rejected. Not that He was not hurt - He wept when Israel rejected Him. He knew mankind would reject Him, still He took the cross - yes, for a purpose greater than Himself, He went ahead but what propelled it all? Could it be that Love personified is telling us that, "rejection can't pin Me down because I feed upon the unending and everlasting LOVE of the Father?"

And you know what? In line with how we compromise at times to be liked by many, I was reminded of the all popular verse (at least popular to me. haha!)...

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV)
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

Opposite of verse 25a, the love of man sets one free... And we have the love of the one MAN, the true Man!

1 John 4:9-10
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.... And I was reminded again of the chinese word of trust/ believe - 信, which is made up of 2 words - 人 (man) and 言 (word)...

Which reminded me of Romans 10:14 - How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

We believe because of the man who preach the Word of God...

Pastor Prince, thanks for showing us always, the heart of Daddy God! :)

Keep sharing the love of Jesus.... Unconditional and unearned... :)

Sorry, just have to slot the below verse in... Saw it as I was searching for Matthew 3:17 on biblegateway. heh... Another verse that mentioned both Jesus being beloved and us not being afraid...

Matthew 17:5-7 (NKJV)
5 ... and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. 7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”

Truly, YOUR Love has set me on higher grounds.... :)

Having loads of fun! ;)

Daddy showing His heart to me....

Friday afternoon and evening fellowship...

Time spent with princess and something that caught me... "Jesus is our first Love.... the past doesn't matter because Jesus dictates our love life..." Truly it is Grace who came down... :)

In the midst of discussion.... "DadGod is really funny, many times I wonder if He asked the right person to do the things I'm given the chance to. But I've learnt, it's not me and I just gotta lean... Life is very simple actually...."

Walk away thought from Friday discussion & fellowship... "Do you see God as a strict trainer or do you see Him as a loving Father?"

My after thought... "Daddy, I think I often see you as a strict trainer... reveal Your heart to me, help me to see You as a loving Daddy."

Saturday outing....

Question posted by lao da... "Why do you think people burn out from serving?"

Answers that caught me.... "They have forgotten their first Love... spend time with you first Love... :)" "They have forgotten their identity as sons & daughters of God and have gotten into the slave mentality, thinking that they are servants. We are in the Father's house and the house belongs to us too! If people come to your house and use crayon to draw on your walls, wouldn't you scold/stop the person? ;)"

I especially love the second answer, reminding me again that this is truly my Father's house and my Father's house is mine too! :)

Saturday after thought... "Wow, Daddy, it's so cool! I hope that Pastor would preach about the Father's love on Sunday. Hmm, but what verses would it be? Luke 15 again?! That's the only one I know that talks about the Father's love man!"

Sunday morning in church....

Pastor shared the testimony of the guy who was reconciled to his dad after reading the D2R daily devo and I was really touched. The gospel - Grace - really saves, in every aspect.

Then Pastor Prince went on to share about the ways of Grace and my heart was just melted by the love of Daddy God. How it is not dependent on what I do. Where sins abound, Grace truly super abound. I don't have to try, no, not at all... For every area of lack, Daddy's super abounding supply is there. Come boldly to Daddy, it doesn't matter how I am, how I look, what I did/do....

And as I was sitting there in service, I was so awed by Daddy, how He truly answers with style and showed me His heart once again...

Lover of my soul, romance me again.......... :)

170808 - Pastor's Sharing on Sin Offering

hehe. Here to share what Pastor Prince shared on Sin Offering today~ :)

Today felt more like a teaching mood and having slept later than I should last night, I was kinda sleepy during service but thank God for keeping me awake lah~ hehe.

Anyway, LORD, I am so excited for camp. I pray for AWESOME worship and ministering time~ hehe. I wanna jump jump jump! haha. Show me my portion. :D

Anyway, back to what Pastor preached today...

He started with Numbers 18:8-11 and he focused more on verse 9 which says:
This shall be yours of the most holy things reserved from the fire: every offering of theirs, every grain offering and every sin offering and every trespass offering which they render to Me, shall be most holy for you and your sons.

If you have gotten Pastor's previous weeks sermon, he mentioned that in the old testament it is a type for us to study... so by mentioning sons here, it doesn't mean that you gotta be male by gender but male in the bible represents active. So you might be a lady but you might be male spiritually - strong to eat the spiritual food. So yeap. :)

There's a reason why the above has been bold and underlined. Will go back to this later. :)

Then Pastor went on to show us on Sin Offering in Leviticus 4, making parallel comparison of what are the differences when the 4 different groups of people sin - An anointed priest, the whole congregation of Israel, a ruler and a commoner (meaning a non-leader). Go read yourself k. haha. Because I didn't copy it down. heh.

But just to touch on a parallel that Pastor mentioned about the Sin Offering and Jesus' work on the cross...

Hebrews 13:11-12
11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

Referencing Leviticus 4:11-12
11 But the bull’s hide and all its flesh, with its head and legs, its entrails and offal- 12 the whole bull he shall carry outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned.

Hurhur. And I love it when Pastor shared about offal! In the KJV it reads "And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung," in verse 11. So offal = dung! hehe. You know whose dung was it? Yours and mine! And you know what is dung? This is so exciting! haha.

Dung is whatever we glory in. hurhur~ Read Philippians 3:8-9
8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

In KJV it reads as below:-
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

If you read the whole context here, it actually talks about having no boast/confidence in the flesh but should we, Paul said that he had much more to boast about (verses 4-6) but what things were gain to Paul, these he counted loss for Christ (verse 7). And he went on to talk about verses 8 onwards! hehe. So in case you thought that Paul were talking about some misconduct or sinful habits as dung, he wasn't. He was talking about him counting all those natural glories that one might glory in as dung! Woohoo~ For the EXCELLENCY of the knowledge of Christ Jesus! :D

So cool can! I love it. hehe.

Anyway, after the dung business, lets go back to the Sin Offering.... hehe.

Pastor went on to share Hebrews 10:1-4 that talks about how it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins nor make those who approach perfect. As such, God has no delight in these sacrifices. Because He loves us so much and wants a close and intimate relationship with us. God is really so passionate about loving you. He was so passionate to bring you into unbroken fellowship that He sent His only Son to die for you... So amazing how it all ties together.

Before I continue, lets read Hebrews 10:1-4
1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

That's why God went on to say in verse 5-7 that He did no desire in sacrifice and offering. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin He has no pleasure. He is a real God leh. He is not interested in just providing you a shadow of the good things to come. He gave His Son, the substance, just for you. Awesomeness! :D

And in contrast, lets now take a look at the REAL thing. C'mon guys (& ladies. haha!) don't just settle k. Who wants a shadow when we have the REAL thing. You just want a picture of your dream house or you want the real house?? haha.

So in Hebrews 10:11-14
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God...14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

You can rest fully because Christ's work at the cross is completely complete. I love it when Pastor said that we are forgiven not according to our knowledge but according to HIS knowledge. Do you know that the Father has put this down in the bible as well? hehe.

Lets read... Isaiah 53:11
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.

It is by Jesus' knowledge of our sin that He justified us. God doesn't have a moment by moment view of our lives. He has the bird's eye view. He sees the beginning from the end. (is my phrasing right? haha.) So yah loh. It is according to HIS knowledge that we are forgiven by His work at the cross. So today we can rest fully and surely because by HIS knowledge we (YOU) are justified. Coolest right. haha.

Daddy told Pastor the following... Our sins brought Christ down to the cross. His Righteousness brought us up into the presence of Abba~ hehe. So sweet!

Next is Hebrews 9:25-28
25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another- 26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Pastor shared, notice in verse 28 it says apart from sin? It means that in the second coming, He is coming for the salvation of our bodies, apart from sin where sin is no more an issue. The subject of sin would never be brought up in the presence of God again (even now) because Jesus' work has completely removed it from Abba's eyes. To God who is righteous, it is a closed case because it has all been judged at the cross of Jesus. Yippiiiie!

So we can happily embrace Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP)
17 The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.

Romans 6:10-11 (AMP)
10 For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him].
11 Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

Have fun yoh people. :D So exciting to share all these. Been long since I shared man. Don't really know how to come out with a whole sermon on my own but pleasure to be able to share what my spiritual father - Pastor Prince share with us. :D

Anyway, just a note... In this sharing I have added some of my own points, etc and it doesn't really cover everything that Pastor shared with us. So if you wanna find out more or get more to chew on, get his CD when it's out next week man! haha.

Anyway, added thought that Pastor shared... Jesus was still holy on the cross when He carried all our sins. Check out Numbers 18:9. :)

His Love....

170608 - His left-handed Benjamite

hehe. Here to blog again! :) Heard sharing from people who went for the Student Arrow Camp and it makes me so excited for my upcoming camp as well. Abba, fill my life with surprises of rest and getaways with You... So looking forward... haha.

Anyway, love whatever I heard from the people who shared about the camp. How they were so convicted of their identity as the ben gen. Thank You Abba, I am of this generation as well.

Love it when I was told that Benjamin's life is one where you will always see Joseph in action. Even when coming into Joseph's presence, it was Joseph who sent for Benjamin.

Psalm 27:8 (NLT)
My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."
And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."

I love it when han pa shared that whatever that he or pastor has been sharing, is to entice us to go experience this Jesus for ourselves. I love it when I see Abba calling me away to Himself, setting the Love in me for His Word and His Presence.

Love the illustration sam gave about Benjamin (son of My right-hand) who leaves up his (her) weaknesses to God and God with His right hand holds my left hand (weaknesses). I lift my left-hand to You Abba.

Okay, gonna share something that amused me. :D When I was in the shower and talking to Abba about the Benjamin Gen, He showed me Smurf! haha. Those blue little people who are only 3 apple tall and wear white! hehe.

Blue reminds me of Grace and white is righteousness :) My whole being is of Grace and my only clothing is Righteousness.

050608 - Eternity in the heart

:) I love it that Abba showed Himself cool and faithful...

Last Sunday before service, we talked about dreams & purpose and having talked about that, I realised that it has been long since I thought or talked about it and had been quite caught up in my own world. So I asked Abba to put eternity in my heart. And after service, I got to talk to mama and I thought it through on Monday, realising that what she said to me showed me a glimpse of what I prayed for on Sunday. And having said that, I know I'm not ready yet... Daddy, woo me back yet again... :)

And on Tuesday when I was reading the bible, I saw that it's something in the bible!

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

:D Happy. hehe. And really thank God for Godly counsels. Because I haven't been my best since Monday... Having been quite emo yet unsure how to overcome. And yesterday I decided to talk about it with s.ong and queen. And having talked about it, I've been put in place yet again. haha. Exactly the same thing that mama told me some time back that made me wanna be excellent and just excel in the gifts that Abba placed in me. That which queen told me and stuck with me was, "I know you can handle more than this and you have not given your best." I was yet again spurred to give my best. hehe. Thanks Daddy. :)

Then today was really sweet! Because I saw my fruits. hehe. And just yesterday I was meditating on Psalm 1:3, He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Fruits because someone's life that I have played a part in, is now sharing the Word with people! And not ashamed at all. It has been such a privilege to see this person grow and having that Christ confidence. :D And another was s.ong who shared with me from the sermons I passed her - "we do not live by feelings but by faith. and feelings nullify faith; hence we should speak and feel out of faith..."

So cool to eat of these fruits... It brings joy to my heart. hehe.

hehe. I asked and He answered - movie tix and someone pressed bell for me! hehe.

Was contemplating whether to watch movie tomorrow and was telling Abba to ask someone help me pay for my tix. haha. Then I was telling 3d panda I would decide the next day whether to go. So next day, princess was asking me, if I wanna go and before I can answer with my contemplation, she said she has free movie tix for me! heh heh. Coolios~

This morning I was on the crowded bus and when it was approaching my stop, I told Abba, "help me press bell! :D" I was actually holding on to the bar that has the bell but I just didn't want to press it, wanting Abba to make someone or even an angel help me press. Then as the bus was turning to my bus stop, I started to wonder, "should I press? what if no one press sia?". To be frank not much of a deal because I can drop at the next stop but of course I want to drop at my designated stop lah. haha. Then Abba asked me, "when you asked me previously, did I fail you?" Then I said, "nope." And almost as soon as I answered Him, the bell rang! hehe. Coolios~

Let the walk be even sweeter LORD because I wanna know You and not just about You. :)

- Eternity...
